Sometimes: Glycerine suppositories can help or a fleet mineral oil enema or sop suds enema mad with a teaspoon of liquid ivory soap. But if all else fails, manual disimpaction is necessary...Not fun for the patient or the physician. Best thing is to not get impacted by following a proper fiber diet and drinking plenty of fluids.
