Portion size, obese: Since the 1950s, our portion size has tripled in this country. Popcorn at movie theater....3x bigger, hamburger, 3x bigger, candy bars, bottles of soda, all bigger. And we've all been trained not to throw out food, because there are starving people in the world. So, if you eat more, even healthy, you eat more calories and fat. Also, you get served 3x more when eating out at restaurants.

Seems pretty obvious: total calories in makes for more obesity. Coming up with two more reasons takes imagination! 1) sets up habit to eat more 2) might have secondary health effects like diabetes due to obesity probably will NOT lower metabolic rate.
