Fasting: Fasting does nothing beneficial for you. It is not healthy, and certainly does not promote or maintain long term weight loss. When you fast, it slows your metabolism which causes you to gain the weight back (+more) when you stop fasting. This is the yo-yo effect. As a stand alone method for long term weight control, fasting is terrible. Eating healthy and exercising is the best.
