More ovulations: Great question. The theory is that women who have not had children have more ovulations in their life and these ovulations cause scarring of the surface of the ovary and can lead to cancer. Pregnancy and breastfeeding decrease the risk. It is probably not that simple as many other factors are at play. Infertility treatments can also increase risk of ovarian cancer.
