I just my wisdom teeth pulled and was put on antibiotics. will they stop my birth control from working?

No. : There are very few meds which interfere with birth control. Keep taking your pills. Their efficacy shouldnt change with antibiotics for that surgery. If you're worried, use condoms too for a week.

Birth control/dental: Antibiotics do decrease the efficacy of birth control medications. You do need to use an alternative method of birth control for the rest of that particular birth control medication cycle and while on the antibiotics to avoid an unwanted pregnancy.

Maybe.: Antibiotics taken by mouth can potentially decrease the effectiveness of birth control pills. As a result, the oral contraceptive may be less effective. Ask your doctor about this to be sure. Different antibiotics effect birth control pills differently.

Nothing to worry!: The only antibiotic that has ever been shown to interfere with birth control levels and effectiveness is a medicine called Rifadin (Rifampin) which is used to treat tuberculosis. Do not pay attention to the biggest medical myths of all time. Take care.
