Diagnosis on my endometrial biopsy states: no tissue recovered after routine processing. what does that mean?

See below: The biopsy did not recover enough tissue for processing for microscopic examination. Your endometrium may be so atrophic that it did not yield tissue on biopsy or it may have been a technical problem. Please discuss the matter with your doctor to see if an other attempt at biopsy is warranted.

Endometrial biopsy: when the endometrial sample was sent to the pathologist, there was no uterine lining tissue there. Perhaps it was just mucous or blood. This lack of tissue might be due to "atrophy" (normal in aging), when the uterine lining gets very thin, so not much tissue can be removed. The GYN should make sure he/she sampled the cavity well. if she/he did, and no tissue was removed, it is likely atrophy.
