Should not. : Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) is least safe because more of it can get into the breast milk than the other antidepressants. I would try all the other antidepressants first. If you really need pristiq, (desvenlafaxine) you should seriously consider stopping breastfeeding. If you decide to take Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) and still breastfeed, you have to understand that there are risks as your baby is getting some Pristiq (desvenlafaxine) which each feed.
