Unlikely: Cancer is not the most likely of diagnoses based on this brief description, but recommend having a doctor take a look at it when there is swelling to do additional testing. If this is an arthritis (inflammation of the joint) then the more important question is to identify the underlying cause and additional tests might be necessary.
