Please try not to: Let your mood rise and fall based on the moods of others. Avoid taking the moods of others personally. Your feelings can get hurt but be appropriately assertive and set limits. Peace and good health.

Opportunities abound: One "simple" strategy is to take the following approach: When encountering behavior in others that elicits unwanted/negative feelings in you, see this as the other person seeking help for something, but not knowing how to ask for it. Then figure out a way to help them. If you are earnest, regardless of what they first thought of you, they will see your caring and the relationship will improve.
