Nothing much.: Hornet stings are no more virulent or dangerous than any other sting, unless you're allergic to the venom. A non-sedating antihistamine like Allegra (fexofenadine) and perhaps some Hydrocortisone cream are all you need. If you break out in generalized hives, that's an allergic reaction, so call your doctor. If it progresses and you start to have trouble breathing, call 911.

Hornet sting: Clean area w soap ; warm water. Apply ice in 10 min. Increments (10 on/10 off). Can try tylenol, (acetaminophen) Aspirin or Motrin for pain or Benadryl for swelling. Make paste of 2 parts baking soda ; 1 part water ; apply. Need tetanus shot every 10 years. Throat, airway, mouth swelling or difficulty breathing? Call 911! ** hornets release attack pheromones – so that multiple wasps strike at the same time.
