Absolutely: The same kind of diseases you would be worried about if she was not a lesbian. Be open and honest with each other. Remember every one you both have ever had a sexual relationship with could bring something into this relationship. Get to know your new mate and develop trust and understanding before having sex. Both should be tested for std's if either has any concern.

STD concerns: I agree with Dr. Harper. There are no sexually transmitted diseases that occur only in lesbians. Using protection is always important. Practice safe sex.
