A member asked:

My 3.5 month old ebf baby didn't poop for 3 days. when she did it was very smelly and thick, like soft butter or gooey peanut butter. is that normal?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Normal: Breastfed babies can go 5-6 days without pooping. Formula fed babies 1-2 days. Breastmilk poop can be green, yellow, brown or tan; watch for blood in the stool or signs of irritability with stooling; often times the breastmilk color is just a reflection of what "mom" ate and what "baby" need; what's not needed gets pooped out!
