Maybe normal: Whether you have a c-section or a vaginal delivery, it can take up to 6 weeks for the uterus to heal and stop bleeding. Bleeding can stop and start during that time. Most doctors say 6 weeks for vaginal intercourse after a delivery. But usually you get a post partum exam around that time, and the doctor then gives you a "go ahead" if everything is healed. I'm not surprised you had pain.
