Exercise: If you can exercise in the morning before work, this will improve your mental acuity much better than any dietary manipulation. But, as to diet, i would avoid refined carbohydrates, as the Insulin afterload will dull your senses and make you hungry; there is no fixed number of meals that is recommended; some people do well on 3 square meals, some on 2, some on frequent small meals; experiment;.
