Very sharp pain behind middle of left ribcage when i breathe in, have a sore throat and stuffed up nose for 3 days. what could the sharp pain mean?

Several posibilities: Pain during inhalation ususally means irritation of the chest wall or the pleura (irritation or inflammation of the lining of the lung). You don't mention that you havve a fever, which makes infection less likely. Hiccups my also be causing stomach acid reflux and irritaion. Another possibility cculd be pneumothorax (air leading from the lung). See a physician.
