Not normal: It is common for bleeding to be heavier and last longer when you are late for a period, but going three months without a period is not normal. There are many reasons for a late period, like stress, illness, travel, changes in weight, or medications. If it happens once in a young healthy woman, i'm not worried. If this happens again, then this is a reason to see a gyn doc and get checked.
