A member asked:

How are advair and busesonide similar, different? do they control inflammation in different ways?

Dr. John Chiu answered

No: Budesonide is an inhaled steroid and advair is a combination of a steroid plus a long-acting bronchodilator. The steroid component is the major actor in countering inflammation. Most people tend to respond better to the combination than just the inhaled steroid but not all asthma cases need the combination.
