Rule of thumb: The single most significant factor is the relation to activity. No single factor is diagnostic but mid chest pressure that is brought on by physical exertion and is relieved by resting is the most reliable factor. Severity and location are not predictive. Pain that is worse with deep breath or compression of your chest wall is not cardiac. Pain that lasts for hours or seconds is not cardiac.

Go to doc: I suspect you should see your doc initially for evaluation. Many non heart reasons could cause these pains . You could have reflux, costochondritis or even anxiety.
