A member asked:

I'm trying to cut my sodium intake, how long before water retension gets less?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Less water retention: One cannot say how long it will take you to mobilize your edema. It depends on what caused it. Was it due to a low serum albumin, heart or kidney disease, or varicose veins, among others? You should see a physician to assess your issue and provide answers and a treatment plan. You should weigh yourself daily and if you are gaining weight daily, you are retaining fluid, the conserve is also true.
