Not necessarily: There are outpt eating disorder programs in most geographic areas. Hospitalization is only used when there would be medical danger to the patient if they were not in a hospital. See a psychologist or psychiatrist who specializes in treating eating disorders. Many also find help from overeaters anonymous (not just for the obese - this is an incorrect stereotype).
