What is adoptive t-cell therapy?

Delivery of T cells: Adoptive T cell therapy is a form of immunotherapy for malignancy that involves isolation and ex vivo expansion of tumor specific T cells to deliver a greater number of T cells to the tumor than by vaccination alone. These tumor specific T cells are infused into patients with cancer in an attempt to give their immune system the ability to overwhelm remaining tumor.. Tumor infiltrating lymphocytes or TIL have been used by isolating and expanding one particular T cell or clone have been engineered to potently recognize and attack tumors with minimal effect. It is now being recognized that IgG1’s can be more effective than TIL thru ADCC.
