A member asked:

Could taking any medicines affect your antibody test for infectious diseases?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Immunosuppression: Certainly some medicines can suppress the immune system -& whole classes of drugs are designed to do just that. For example, someone with lupus, inflammatory arthritis, or with an organ transplant will have an 'altered' immune system because of those meds -that is deliberate. So it really depends on what meds you may or may not be on. Sometimes we do find immunodeficiencies on routine blood work.
