Yes: Many benign tumors are known to convert to malignancy and are carefully watched and not subject to treatment ie giant cell tumor of bone that is radiated will convert. Benign lipomas as they grow may be found to convert to liposarcoma and Pagets of bone is known to convert to Pagets sarcoma.Thyroid adenomas also have a high rate of conversion.
