A member asked:

Could a woman be impregnated by her own bone marrow?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: This can seem confusing. Bone marrow contains stem cells that reproduce and generate blood cells throughout life. These stem cells are what are transferred in a bone marrow transplant and cause normal blood cells to be produced in the recipient. These are different than germ cells (eggs and sperm) that come together to cause a pregnancy. They are not interchangeable.
