Could a stomach hernia cause bleeding?

Not usually: Hernias of the abdominal wall should be surgically repaired. Serious complication can occur - including the hernia growing larger and trapping bowel within it. When that happens the hernia is painful and dangerous. Bleeding is not common - it does occur if bowel is trapped. Please do see a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment. Peter wilk, md.
