Could a 14 yr old have lung cancer?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not as adults do.: They can have metastatic disease from other cancers associate with children. They can have developmental tumors, germ cells. Also bronchogenic(in the airways) tumors. Thyroid or thymus gland tumors. Sometime esophageal issues in kids will show up in the chest as well. Pleural tumors(the cover around the lung) as well. Hope this help some. Look at cancer.Net website.
