Baths and creams : Hemorrhoids - swollen anal veins - are the most common disease of humans. They are not dangerous but they can swell, bleed and cause pain. Keeping your stool soft (colace), warm baths with epsom salts and creams like a;d or anusol help. Do see a doctor. In-office treatments include rubber band ligations or coagulation which are very effective. Occasionally an operation is needed. Peter wilk, md.
