SIJ: Sudden leg collapse has various causes. Interarticular "joint mice" & meniscal tears can suddenly shift in knee joint causing acute wedges that elicit pain & involuntary loss of leg strength; causing leg to give out; as can sacroiliac joint, SIJ, disorder, as it suddenly subluxes causing SIJ hyper-rotation & impingement/paresis of the overlying presacral plexus; the sciatic nerve "headwater".
