Parkinson's Disease: Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disease that is due to the accelerated loss of the pigmented neurons in the substantia nigra, dorsal motor nucleus and ventral tegmental area in the brainstem. It reslts in the loss of dopaminergic stimulation of downtream brain nuclei and a collection of neurological symptoms. These include slowed movements, increase in muscle tone and in 70 %, tremor.
