No: The most important thing is to brush and floss well. Mouthwash is not necessary to maintain good oral health for most of us. But your dentist may recommend or prescribe a specific mouth rinse for a specific problem or condition such as gum disease.

Adequate brush/floss: Keeping up to date with dental exams and brushing/flossing at least every morning and night makes it so rinsing with mouthwash should not be necessary. Using mouthwash or some anti-plaque rinse as a supplement is an excellent adjunct.

We do not endorse: specific brands on healthtap. Mouthwashes can reduce bacteria that cause decay. Make sure you also brush and floss daily.
