No: If your pregnancy test is negative then there was no need for a sonogram. An eight week pregnancy would have a positive pregnancy test and would be very easy to see on a sonogram.

Question: vaginal ultrasound w close to full bladder, 8 weeks since contact doc said not preg, test is neg. Did i need empty bladder or not preg?
