No penicillin: Hsv - herpes simples virus is not treated with penicillin which is an antibiotic. Antibiotics do not treat viruses only bacteria. There are topical and oral medications to treat hsv. Your doctor will determine which is best for you. Some common names are acyclovir, famvir, valtrex (valacyclovir).

HSV: Hsv can be treated with anti-viral therapies like acyclovir. Penicillin and other antibiotics will not help, as it is not a bacterial disease. I would recommend consulting your doctor for a prescription.

Herpes: Is treated with antivirals. Penicillin is not indicated since we use it for bacteria. Herpes is a virus. Talk to your doctor about getting adequate treatment. Take care!

Valtrex (valacyclovir): The two most common drugs prescribed for herpes outbreaks are Acyclovir and valacyclovir. Although they can be used for treatment, if the outbreaks are very bad, you may benefit from suppressive therapy to prevent the outbreaks occurring in the first place. Penicllin is an antibiotic and has no effect on viruses like herpes.
