Get tested: Various things can affect your menstrual cycle -- including things like sickness and stress, so it is possible that your illness has changed your period. However, if you are sexually active, it is a good idea to find out if you are pregnant with a pregnancy test and/or doctor visit. If you are, there are medications and activities you would want to avoid to maintain a healthy pregnancy.

Irregular periods: Any changes to your regular period should raise the suspicion of pregnancy especially if you are having sex with no protection( although even with protection it is a possibility although a lot less of course). I advice to get a pregnancy test. If negative and it keeps happening in your subsequent cycles you should see your gyn provider to have other tests done.
