Top of aorta: The main artery to the body is the aorta which comes out of the heart, moves up your body towards your neck, then curves to descend down your chest to provide blood to the rest of the body. The curve in the aorta where it turns to descend is called the aortic arch. This part of the aorta can get calcium in its wall and then is labelled a calcified arch. It is not in the heart, it is a above it.
