Get checked: First of all, the bites will fade and disappear. Secondly, sand flies transmit a group of parasites called leishmania. There are different species in different parts of the world. If you might be infected, tests are available and the problem is readily treated. Find an infectious disease specialist and ask if and when you should be seen and tested.
