Lo 2-3 days, hi 6-7: After ejaculation the sperm does not stay in the vagina. It begins to swim through the cervical mucous on it's way through the cervix into the uterus where it is on it's quest of finding the egg. Sperm live in the uterus for a few days with the possibility of as many as 6-7 days if the conditions are optimal. It varies for many reasons. Common 2-3 depends on environmt. Inside the uterus is not bad.
