Glycerine problems: Glicerine suppositories work by drawing fluid into the colon to facilitate defecation. Aside from occasionally causing irritation of the anus, there should be no real side effects.

Dependence: There are no serious side effects other than your bowel habits getting dependent on this treatment. You may wish to try fiber laxative like metamucil.
