A member asked:

I know that alcohol is a nono when you are taking in geodon (ziprasidone). but what about grapefruits or grapefruit drinks?

Geodon (ziprasidone): and other medications and grapefruit compete for an enzyme in the liver, similar to a drug-drug interaction. This is why while taking geodon (ziprasidone) you should refrain from eating grapefruit. If the package insert suggests that you refrain from drinking grapefruit juice as well, it's in your best interests to follow those guidelines.
