Sit up straight.: The most common, poor posture, head forward, rounded shoulders. Sleeping with too many pillows will cause pain. Common activities of daily living like driving a lot, long periods of sitting (computer work), telephone work, etc. There are physical diseases that might lead to pain, if there were an actual growth, or gallbladder disease, but these are rarer. See a doc, finish this talk there.

Yes...: Take a break when you can, move your head and neck around and stretch up. You can also use gentle heat and nsaids (aspirin or Ibuprofen or naproxen) after work for some relief. Good luck.

Many possibilities!: There are many possible reasons as to why you could have this pain. If you have had it for a long time it could be an old injury or degenerative changes. I recommend you see a physician to evaluate it in person so that they can do physical exams that will help narrow down the possibilities. For now, heat or ice can be helpful. Acetaminophen during episodes as well.

Pain management: You could be having chronic jaw and neck pain. I have seen patients having symptoms of head pain which refers to the neck, shoulders and arm and vice versa. You may require a combination of physical therapy, posture training and short term medications. If you have been having these problems for a long time, consult the craniofacial pain center at the tufts dental school.
