STI Tests: Generally speaking, a person should have testing for sexually transmitted infections (STI) after having sex without a condom. These include Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, Hepatitis B, Syphilis, and HIV. If you have a discharge as well the doctor can also check for Trichomonas in the office. Finally you should always get a pregnancy test just in case. Some are blood test and some are done with a Q tip.

If you are concerned: about STD's, you should be screened for gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and HIV. HPV and herpes can also be transmitted, but are not easily treated. Depending on the doc, they may check other tests as well. Be safe!
