Get an eye exam: Dry eye commonly causes a variety of symptoms such as grittiness, light sensitivity, eye fatigue, fluctuating vision, and even tearing. Tearing that occurs when the eyes are dry as a baseline is called reflex tearing. The eyes suddenly pour out tears in response to the dryness. These tears are not usually very lubricating. Other conditions such as eye inflammation and glaucoma can also cause this.
