He's safe, right?: If he's neglecting other aspects of his life because of this focus, that's still his business. Guys with Asperger's may develop very narrow interests but enjoy them thoroughly and they're not unhappy. Skateboarding could actually be a great way to make friends -- many narrowly-focused guys have trouble with this. If he's not wearing a helmet, buy him one and tell him you love him.
