Skin care: Moisturizing the skin and avoiding long baths, fragranced products will help the skin retain moisture. In addition, application of topical steroids may be recommended by your physician. Allergy testing may help to determine if there is a food triggering the dermatitis.

Infant atopy: Remove all exposure to products w perfumes or dyes (detergents, fabric softeners, shampoo, lotions). Many people have had success w application of coconut oil, olive oil, shea butter (pure and pharmaceutical grade) or cocoa butter directly to the skin. Other topical emollients or prescription steroid creams are sometimes used as well. No long baths or showers.
