Water, not fat: Hi. Laxatives can acutely dehydrate, and for water, "a pint's a pound the world around"; and laxative abuse causes electrolyte and acid/base disturbances. But laxatives don't get rid of fat, the prevalent storage form of calories. So beg to differ all you want, but it's unhealthy.
