Ototoxic drugs: Aminoglycosides like gentamicin, amikacin, neomycin, tobramycin and streptomycin have been linked to vestibular (balance) and/or hearing loss. Other ototoxic drugs include loop diuretics like Furosemide and ethacrynic acid, cisplatin, carboplatin, Aspirin and other salicylates, quinine. Effects can be a function of dosage, renal function, and other medications being used at the same time.
