Leukopenia: Reduced wbcs are termed "leukopenia" and can occur during any organ injury. For the liver, this can occur during a more chronic phase that results in cirrhosis of the liver. At that point we see the effects of cirrhosis on other organs, specifically the spleen. The spleen enlarges (splenomegaly) and sequesters white blood cells (wbcs) as well as rbcs and platelets. This results in pancytopenia.
