A member asked:

My spit test came up positive for oral thrush could it be something else or is the test only for oral thrush dr. dont know what it is?

Ask your DR: Oral candidiasis is a clinical diagnosis made by exam. You neglect to say if you have symptoms and you did not indicate what you see there. Candida albicans will routinely grow in cultures taken from a normal mouth. Thrush is an overgrowth of candida yeast, often related to diabetes, steroids, or antibiotics. There are easy and effective remedies.
