A ct of my chest showed an enlarged lymph node in the carina area. it measured 1.8 cm. what is the likelihood this could be a symptom of lung cancer?

Unlikely: Even though you do have copd. This is one of those questions that is academic. If it is cancer, it will not be curable because it has spread. If you feel generally well, it is probably not cancer. There's no point in pursuing it. Go about your life.

Minimal: Enlarged lymph nodes are a sign of lung cancer spread, but that means that lung cancer has diagnosed. It is rare to have enlarged lymph nodes, but no lung lesion. You may want your doctor to check the CT scan for an esophageal lesion or endobronchial mass. Otherwise, it is just an enlarged node.
