I have chronic pain throughout my body and feel foggy all the time. can adding abilify (aripiprazole) to my celexa 40 mg a day help clear my head and help with pain?

Depression ; anxiety: I would only use Abilify (aripiprazole) as a last resort. There are many other drugs to try before adding this drug. Although Abilify (aripiprazole) is a good adjunct to mood stabilizing meds it has a host of side effects that would make me not use it until i had exhausted more typical meds for depression and anxiety.

The abilify (aripiprazole): May help to clear your mind (especially if you dissociate with an anxiety disorder). I am not sure how much it will help with pain.

If you don't have confidence in your Psychiatrist see another for a 2nd opinion. Your self-report of your symptoms along with observations of people who care about you are of utmost importance. Those symptoms are carefully analyzed to find the correct diagnosis which isn't always obvious. Have a physical exam to rule out underlying illness. Consult with a Clinical Psychologist for Psychotherapy.
