Lorazepam: Advil (ibuprofen) pm and Lorazepam are entirely different in their actions. Advil (ibuprofen) pm is not a medication for "stress" although it is sedating. If you were in an er when very anxious ("stressed"), the er physician may have appropriately prescribed Lorazepam to help you through that. Most physicians explain the purposes and potential side effects of medications, unless immediate circumstances preclude that.
